Our House is DONE!

I'm a little late posting, we have been busy moving in and unpacking and enjoying our new home. I can't even say how happy I am with how it turned out. Here is a picture of the exterior and a picture of our view out of the kitchen window. I will post interior pictures soon!

A shout out to our AWESOME subs

I just wanted to mention some of our subs! We have had so much fun picking things and working with these awesome people! Thanks today to our bricklayer Jon Vanderstappen and his crew, they are working so hard and they do such a clean nice job! Thanks also to Page drywall, they were in there for one day and it is already looking more like a house inside! Thanks. Our electricians and plumbers were so quick and good as well. We have spent a lot of time picking everything for our house and wanted to say thanks to Contempo yile for making our decisions so easy for us there with their great selection. Thanks to Kay Rileys and sons for helping us over and over again until we could figure out our wood flooring and carpet. Thanks to North Davis, most especially Jason, I have seen and talked to him so much during this process and he has been so kind and helpful. There are so many others to thank, but I want to give the biggest shout out to our builder! He is awesome and makes sure everything is done perfectly. THANKS DAD! You are awesome!

So much has happened!

I am so happy to blog about the house today! It has just been flying! The framing is done, the electrical is done, the plumbing is done, the insulation is done, the brick is started and moving along sooooo quickly, and the drywall started today and is also coming along great! We have also had so much fun picking things and we cant wait to see it all come together.

On September 29 we got our trusses on our house! It was cool to watch the crane do its thing!

September 16, 2009 Our floor joist were finished and the floor put down.

Friday September 11th we got there just in time to see Stock pulling in with our flooring.

We got to watch them unload it.

The Browns started framing that day. Here is a picture of Tyler, one of our great framers! I am so glad that my cousin Brad and his boys are going to be framing our house. They are so good.
Here is one of the walls. Cant wait to go and see what else has happened.

Floor Poured

September 9th our floor was poured! Every step makes it easier to imagine.

I even got some pictures of the guys finishing up our garage. It is looking pretty nice! We are so excited to have a third car garage in this house.

Our backfill was done on September 8. It was nice to see the foundation up close. It is looking pretty good!

Monday August 31 we had our foundation poured. So exciting!

Footings

Yesterday the footings were completed on our house. Pretty cool stuff! Here are some pictures...
We also went to North Davis Cabinets yesterday and got a good start on picking our our cabinets, countertops, fireplace mantle and all of that fun stuff. I am excited for that! We also went over to Kay Riley and Sons to get an idea of floor coverings we like too. We are jumping the gun a little. But it was really fun anyway!

When we pulled up yesterday and saw the tractor at work, I got so excited. It was fun to see how it will lay out on our lot. With the water table so high in Syracuse, we can't go too deep. But Lynn puts a drain around the lot to prevent any water problems.
We visited throughout the day, our little man was so excited about seeing the tractor.
Down below is the hole! Thanks a ton to Matt at HOS Excavation. He did such a great job and he was so fast. Footings on Thursday.

Lot and Plan

Well after a few months of going through plan books and looking at lots, we have finally decided on both! We have decided on a plan we looked at first and we have always loved everything about it and it works perfectly on our lot!
This is a picture of our lot! We are so excited about it. It backs up to the Glen Eagle golf course and we love the view of the old barn and the walking trail. This is such a great neighborhood. It is so quiet and we love everything about it. If you look on the Lynn Glauser Homes website there are maps with all of our lots on them and there is a few house plans and a link to KHdesign house plans.

The Start...

Well we have picked out a Lot and a Plan! We have the engineered plans from Ken Reed at KHdesigns or zhouseplans.com. We are so excited about our lot and our plan!!! We are just waiting for the plans to be approved at the city and we will dig! Hopefully MONDAY!!! We are very excited for this adventure. This will be our second Lynn Glauser home. Our first was a spec home, so this is our first time picking things out. We hope you enjoy watching our journey!
